New York Color Cosmetics (N.Y.C.) Minerals

I’ve been seeing more lines of mineral makeup coming from drugstore discount brands over the past year or so, and though I haven’t tried any as of yet, I’ve wondered how they fare when compared to some of the higher end (read: expensive) brands of mineral cosmetics.
If you’re lucky, the N.Y.C. (New York Color) Minerals line can be found at your local department or drugstore (CVS, in my case), and they carry a growing line of mineral makeup, which now includes mineral foundation, mineral veil, and mineral blush, and a loose eye powder kit. The line claims to be “natural”, oil and fragrance free, and the face products are talc free. I haven’t checked out the full ingredient statements, but I know from experience that most of the drugstore brands do tend to have more fillers and preservatives than many of the independent lines. I don’t know if that’s the case here, so you’ll want to check the ingredient statement before you try.
Julia over at Fashion Pulse Daily recently gave the N.Y.C. Minerals line a very positive review and compared it favorably to the pricier mineral makeup lines. Check out her N.Y.C. Minerals review!
